I am a PhD student working together with Prof. Craig Lundstrom on the connection of silicic plutons and volcanoes. My study area are the large volcanic eruptions in the San Juan Volcanic Field in southern Colorado. How are these large, silicic magma systems stored in Earth's upper crust and what causes them to eruption? To answer these questions, I use geochemical and petrological tools, such as stable isotopes (Fe, Ba) or mineral thermometry and diffusion modelling. Thereby, I have been able to gain insight into the storage conditions of large, silicic volcanos and have been relating these to silicic plutons. 

In my free time I enjoy being outside: I love walking my dog, going for hikes, skiing, running and biking.
