Research Description
I am a first-year PhD student working with Prof. William Guenthner. My research interests focus on low-temperature thermochronology, particularly zircon and apatite (U-Th)/He thermochronometry. My current work investigates helium diffusion behavior in zircon and its implications for the interpretation of thermal histories. More broadly, I use low-temperature thermochronometry and geochronology to study the evolution of orogenic systems and sedimentary basins, with the goal of understanding how lithospheric and deeper geodynamic processes are recorded at Earth’s surface.
Mountains are not static landscapes, but waves moving through geological time, and my work is, in part, an attempt to fold millions of years into the fleeting moment that is my own lifetime.
